International Gigs
This year has been adventurous for London Strings – we’ve had a few international bookings that were a joy to play at!
In July we had a last-minute request to perform for a wedding in Edinburgh. We managed to book the train and hotel, and were off! Our clients had an unlucky cancellation from their previous quartet, and were travelling all the way from the States for their wedding. They had hired a mansion for the occasion. They loved our performance and the groom left us this review-
5 star experience. Punctual, professional and excellent musicians. I would absolutely hire them again.
We stayed an extra night in Edinburgh to explore the beautiful and ancient city. Lucy loves the outdoors so she encouraged Arda to join her climbing up to Arthur’s Seat. Definitely worth it for the photos!
Progres-soft hired our violin and cello duo to perform in Amsterdam’s RAI for one of their big events. They requested our performance mic’d and with backing tracks, which is always a great idea for a huge venue as it allows the music to carry to all corners of the venue.
Our third big international event was a mission – our quartet flew to Marseille in September for a wedding close by in the Château de Tourreau. Stunning venue – check out these photos of us!
Travelling as musicians is no problem – with instruments though, you have to know exactly how to book the flight tickets, especially with the cello. Different airlines have different rules for violins and violas as well, and whether you need to purchase extra legroom or an extra seat. If you’re thinking of hiring musicians for your destination wedding or event we can help out with the travel details!
Anyway, we enjoyed playing for this wedding, which started off with a selection of classical music to welcome the guests, and then finishing with some Bridgerton favourites after the wedding ceremony.
We had the pleasure to explore Avignon on the way home, and caught some last rays of the hot summer sun before making our way back to the U.K
